Baby Madison born 1/21/10
February is one of the most difficult months at our shelters. Why? Simply because most of our moms do not hear from the father’s of their babies and the 14th comes and goes leaving many broken hearts.
The one thing that heals these wounds of feeling abandonment in the heart of a young mother is the thought of her baby whose life you have helped to save. Last week one of the young mothers who now lives at our mother’s shelter found us through our shelter in Newark for homeless women called “Ladies Rest”. Ifeona gave birth on 1/21/10 to a beautiful baby girl named Madison, who weighed 5lbs 13oz. [Below] is a very special thank you letter from this young mother in which she explains, “What I have learned during my stay [at Several Sources] is that I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me and for that reason I will never be alone and with so much of a heavy burden for God will always walk by my side.”
Her love for her baby, her persistence through being homeless and pregnant and finally being totally abandoned by the baby’s father was replaced, through your generosity, with hope and faith in God.
May Our Dear Lord bless you for your compassion and your generous gifts to provide a safe haven for her and her preborn child and all the other mothers and their babies at our Several Sources Shelters.
Without you and your support, our shelters would not exist for the many frightened young women who need us. God bless you for caring so deeply. Thank you for being a part of our Several Sources family.

Dear Several Sources Benefactors,
In all honesty I never knew a place like this existed until I became pregnant and homeless at the same time.
I learned about Several Sources through Charlotte at the Several Sources Shelter in Newark called "Ladies Rest". I decided to come to Several Sources because more than likely it is one of the best foundations a person could support. Not only are innocent babies' lives being saved but young mothers or mothers who believe they can't do it by themselves are challenged to make their lives better through the support from the housemothers and through God.
What I have learned during my stay is that I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me. For that reason I will never be alone and with so much of a heavy burden for God will always walk by my side. In the end I will say to the benefactors, to continue to donate and be a strong supporter to the important message that Several Sources is trying to spread to the world. In my eyes this is a very important cause and without your support to Several Sources there would be more innocence lost than gained.
